Well done! Your surfacing is getting cleaner and better all the time. It seems like your designs are also becoming more unified from front to back. All of the bits looks like one person designed them to work together as a whole. :D

Thank you. Your spirit of observation is spot on, i did design this with few suggestions from others making it into the design, unlike the Axa in which i integrated all kinds of suggestions and the back was made by a friend.
Anyway this is not the final version, i was told the back end is a bit too big and the roof window would look better integrated with the winshield, air inlets need tweking, so….back to the drawing board.
You just can’t satisfy everybody ( sigh )

You’re welcome. You’re also totally correct that you can’t satisfy everyone!! As long as you are making progress and are happy with the results yourself, that is what really counts. Trust yourself and you will grow.

This model is great! I like that it’s not all white and that it looks smoother than some of your other models.

Very clean concept, but what’s up with the rear window. It looks like the driver slammed on the brakes and it slipped up onto the roof. Just kidding – it’s your design, not mine. :)

Oh, well blender is great in its own way, try them both, and see with which one you get the best results and is the most fun for you.

Sketchup is a copy of shape but slower and harder to delete objects with a scale tool.

Marian

I’m sorry to disagree with you Tomy, Sketchup is way older than Shape, and why would you want to delete objects with the scale too when there is the eraser tool….

When you look at the best Sketchup models, like Marians, Sandmans or Smikes, and compare them to the best Shape models, I think the models made in Sketchup is more detailed. Also, in Shape, there are no way to scale an object on for example the Y-axis

right
there are many diferences between
that’s just because on skp models the edges are black and visible, wich gives the impression of details
also that modelers are more likely to do a model til the end, comparing to me, wich from lazyness or ideas break i just upload and fk off the model becuase it didn’t turned well

SetchUp is indeed an older modeler than 3DVIA Shape. Each has a developing set of tools that suit different purposes. I think Shape does not have as many well-detailed models because it is a newer product and most new users are also very new to 3D modeling – one of the main reasons for the software in the first place.

It will take time and users who continue to explore the Shape tools before you see as many well-detailed models as in SketchUp. They have had quite a few years head start on Shape users.

Scaling more complex objects in one axis can be tricky or impossible in Shape. In simpler shapes I often simply cut the model into two pieces, move one part to where I want it to be and then rejoin the pieces.

Once you introduce compound surfaces (mathematically of a higher order) into a Shape, then some tools do not function. I am constantly looking for ways around certain limitations and the tool itself is continually improving.

You should always use the tool(s) that YOU feel comfortable with. If you like the tool you will find a way.

If I am making a character which can be hard to model, I make one side and mirror.
